Description
This 1963 Thornycroft motorsailer is a fully-restored classic wooden ketch in excellent condition, for sale in Martinique. This classic yacht completed a two-year, ground-up restoration and upgrade in 2023. Her Burmese teak hull was found sound, needing only stripping and recaulking, while the mahogany-ply deck was repaired where water had intruded and then sheathed entirely in biaxial fiberglass and epoxy. New stainless was fabricated throughout, including bowsprit, stanchions, and dinghy davits, alongside a new teak swim platform and new teak rub and cap rails. The famously reliable Ford Lehman diesel was completely overhauled by the owner, a Mercedes-trained diesel mechanic, and has just 300 hours since. She was rewired with nine new batteries and four solar panels with controller, and the plumbing was fully renewed, with serviced bronze seacocks, new freshwater pumps and piping, a new hot-water heater, and a new watermaker. The galley was redesigned with new countertops. She measures 50' LOA, 15' beam and 5'5" draft, with two cabins, a wood hull and ketch rig. Asking $99,500. Contact the seller for full details or to arrange a viewing.
